Loriel reborn!

Mrs. Pierce, the better half of Adam, is long gone but I still miss playing her. She's due to be resurrected on a mush, as a fifteen year old Changeling fledge about half way through her first year. I thought I'd share my new desc, which I had a lot of fun writing.

Mortal Desc:
The young girl has a disturbing gaze. Framed by a cascade of black hair and set in an exquisite face, eyes like black opals hold a mosaic of gem hues: sapphire, emerald, amethyst. The angry burn of ruby, the malice of topaz. Quite unnatural and shockingly beautiful. Near adult, the shape of her face and body are sweetened by youth and as yet only hint at the finished woman, like Michelangelo's incomplete statues that strive to tear their way from the marble blocks. She has a yearling grace, flighty and uncertain and full of potential. The long slim body is just saved from gawkiness by the vital and impatient spirit that informs it, the spirit that flashes from those impossible eyes.
Her clothes are simple but expensive: a tobacco smoke grey top in snuggly ribbed cotton with length sleeves and a wide neckline that exposes the brushtrokes of her collar bones. Below a cropped hem shows a slice of ivory midriff above the low slung waist of her black denim jeans. Her slim feet are shod in almost mannishly cut lace-up low boots. One narrow wrist is cuffed by a wide bracelet of silver delphine curves and jet bars linked by silver chain.

Fae Desc:
The Sidhe maiden has a disturbing gaze. Framed by a cascade of black hair and set in an exquisite face, eyes like black opals hold a mosaic of gem hues: sapphire, emerald, amethyst. The angry burn of ruby, the malice of topaz. Her slim form has the tameless grace of a yearling unicorn: every motion a careless dance, every breath distant music. A wild Fiona spirit flares from her opal eyes.
Her clothes are simple with few ornaments. A smoky blue crushed velvet shirt bares the swan wing grace of collarbones, the inset of her waist. It laces up the front with silver ribbons, the same lacing runs down the sleeves showing diamonds of bare arm. Black silk trews tuck into the tops of her low boots. One narrow wrist is cuffed by a wide bracelet of silver delphine curves and jet bars linked by silver chains.

I owe some of the inspiration for the fae desc from Peter S. Beagle's marvelous book, 'The Last Unicorn'. If you haven't read it, you should, especially if you play Changeling or love fantasy.

I've got a promising picture of Loriel, too. Just as soon as I resolve my sound card issues I'll have to move my computer back and .. solve my scanner issues.

Wish me luck.
